Disable the modifier visibility for the moment. Give your arm a Surface Deform modifier with the plane as the Target. Click on the Bind button. Enable the plane's Shrinkwrap visibility. WebThe cut side would be the height of the can, and the other side would be the part that wrapped around the top or bottom of the can.
