WebJan 15, 2024 · It is Electro-Mechanical. When you use your Key it is a straight Mechanical function, and you state that that works. The Switch in the Car door, and on your Key Fob activates a solenoid (inside the trunk hatch), to trip the release. Because you state the Key Fob fails, it is most likely an issue in the Electro-Mechanical solenoid assembly. WebApr 1, 2013 · It's actually a "valet mode." You separate your advance key, click the "valet" button, lock the glove box with the metal part of the advance key, then hand the electronic portion only (keeping the metal key portion in your pocket) to a valet. They cannot access the truck or get full throttle response, etc.
